First broadcast in May 1994, when producer Carl Ross chose to document Swindon Town during the 1992/93 season, he originally intended to look beyond the glamour of football at an unfashionable club - instead he ended up documenting a behind the scenes view of one of the most successful seasons in the club's history in this superb programme, as STFC were promoted to the Premier League.
The first was a 1-1 draw in Rome in 1933. A year later the sides met in what became known as 'The Battle of Highbury'. Italy, playing their first game since winning that year's World Cup Final, a tournament England had declined to take part in, were defeated 3-2. However the match was so violent that it provoked debate about whether England should withdraw from international football entirely. Pictured, Italian goalkeeper Carlo Ceresoli helps an injured English player.

England captain Bobby Moore shakes hands with Giacinto Facchetti before the friendly in Turin in 1973. It was a memorable occassion for several reasons - it was a rare outing for England in a yellow strip, Moore, playing in his 107th game, broke Bobby Charlton's England cap record, and Italy finally beat England, with Fabio Capello scoring one of the goals in the 2-0 win.

Although Bayern's manager Jupp Heynckes has enjoyed much success throughout his footballing career, winning the 1972 European Championship and 1974 World Cup as a player with West Germany, and the 1998 Champions League as manager of Real Madrid (if he is successful on Saturday he will join Ernst Happel, Ottmar Hitzfield and Jose Mourinho in a select group of managers who have won the European Cup with different clubs) his record against English teams in European finals is not a happy one.
Twice as a player for Borussia Monchengladbach he faced Liverpool, and twice he lost. In the 1973 UEFA Cup Final (where Heynckes is pictured at a water-logged Anfield) his team lost 3-2 on aggregate, although Jupp scored both goals for his side, and in the 1977 European Cup Final they went down 2-1 as the Reds won the first of their five

His first season in Germany got off to an indifferent start - he was sent off in a friendly for punching an opposition player and initially struggled with the language. However Keegan's 12 goals helped guide the club to tenth in the league, and 'France Football' magazine awarded him that season's Ballon d'Or.

1978/9 was a remarkable season for Hamburg and their English striker.
